Man with special needs falls to death from Toa Payoh block while searching for pet hamster

A 37-year-old man with special needs died after falling from his eight-storey flat at Block 200 Toa Payoh North on April 26.

Jackson Wong was believed to have been searching for his pet hamster when the fatal accident occurred at around 5.20pm, reported Lianhe Wanbao.

Wong lived with his parents and three siblings. One of his sisters is also a special needs person.

He was not alone at home at the time of the incident but it is unclear how he fell out of the kitchen window. He was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene.

The Association For Persons with Special Needs (APSN) posted about Wong's passing in a tribute on April 30 and identified him as an alumni member.

When reporters visited Wong's home, his mother -- who is in her 70s -- answered the door. However, she declined to comment further.

Responding to queries, the police said they are investigating the unnatural death.
