Man who shouted 'incoherently' apprehended in Bedok

A 39-year-old man was apprehended by the police after causing a commotion in Bedok on Saturday afternoon (Oct 17).

Several readers alerted Stomp to a video of the incident that has been circulating online, showing several police officers surrounding the man.

In response to a Stomp query, the police said they were alerted to a case where a man was allegedly armed with an unknown weapon at 11 Bedok North Street at 2.22pm.

When police officers arrived at the scene, it was established that the man was unarmed and was shouting incoherently.

"The man was subsequently apprehended under Section 7 of the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) Act," said the police.

No injuries were reported.
