Man who allegedly molested woman, stole from guy at East Coast Park arrested

A 23-year-old man was arrested yesterday (April 4) for his suspected involvement in a case of outrage of modesty and a case of theft that occurred at East Coast Park.

On April 3, the police received a report that a 27-year-old woman had been molested by an unknown man at East Coast Park.

On the same day, another 38-year-old man reported that his mobile phone and money had been stolen at the park.

Following investigations, officers from Bedok Police Division established the suspect's identity and arrested him the next day.

The man will be charged in court on today (April 5) with the offence of theft and outrage of modesty.

If found guilty of theft, he can be jailed for up to three years and/or fined.

If convicted of outrage of modesty, he can be jailed for up to two years, fined, caned, or any combination of the three punishments.
