A man sustained head injuries in a road traffic accident that trapped him in his vehicle at Maritime Square at 3.20pm on Saturday (July 6).

Stomper Jamal alerted Stomp to the incident with photos of the scene as he was waiting for a ferry to Batam at Harbourfront.

Jamal said to Stomp: "I was waiting for my ferry when I heard a loud bang from about 50 metres away. According to other witnesses, the car had hit the bus. What I saw was so bad that I dare not take photos of the victim. He was breathing heavily and there was blood all over his body."

In response to a Stomp query, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said: "SCDF responded to a road traffic accident along Maritime Square at about 3.20pm.

"A person was trapped in a vehicle and was rescued by SCDF using hydraulic rescue tools.

"The person was conveyed to Singapore General Hospital."

Stomp understands that the victim had sustained fractures and head injuries, and was conscious when conveyed to the hospital.
