A 62-year-old man was arrested after being seen slouching against a taxi and lying on the road along Yishun Avenue 2 in the wee hours of Monday (Oct 29).

Stomper Anonymous witnessed the incident, which she said occurred in front of Khatib MRT Station at close to 1am.

Said the Stomper: "The man in the taxi honked for a long time at a delivery truck which had stopped earlier to do some unloading.

"Two people from the delivery truck approached the man in the taxi and asked him to reverse and move off, but he got agitated and kept moving forward instead.

"When I was getting my phone to take a video, the police came.

"What puzzled me was, in between the chaos, another guy came. He kinda told the police what happened and went to the driver's seat like it was his taxi!"

A video taken by Anonymous show how the man appeared to be unsteady on his feet and was leaning against the rear bumper of the taxi while speaking with the police.

He is then seen lying on the road with his limbs sprawled out.

Responding to a Stomp query, the police said they received a call for assistance at 12.41am.

"A 62-year-old man was arrested for suspected theft of vehicle and other traffic-related offences," they added.

Police investigations are ongoing.
