Man slaps kid who peed on China street -- and gets cheered online

Most people would find slapping an eight-year-old child atrocious, even if the latter had done something wrong.

However, a man in Nantong, Jiangsu, was lauded online after doing exactly that.

A video circulating online shows how he had been walking down a street, but turned around after seeing a kid urinate in public.

The man, believed to be in his 30s, then walked up to the child and smacked him across the face.

According to Shanghaiist, the boy's face was left red and swollen, causing his parents to lodge a police report.

The man was subsequently arrested and faces a fine of 500 to 1,000 yuan.

Netizens do not agree with his punishment though.

"If his parents aren't going to teach him, then society is," wrote one user.
