A man was rescued from a van after an accident occurred along the Pan Island Expressway (PIE) at about 4.30pm on Wednesday (Sep 25).

Stomper WW was at home when he suddenly heard a loud 'bang'.

He looked out a window from his flat at Block 280 Toh Guan Road and took a video of what he saw.

WW told Stomp: "I stay near PIE, at Block 280.

"I was at home and suddenly heard a loud 'bang'. I looked out a window and saw an accident.

"I saw the SCDF arrive and help someone out of a van. I couldn't really see since I live on the 14th floor, so I don't know if the man's condition was serious or not."

In response to a Stomp query, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said: "At about 4.30pm on Wednesday (Sep 25), SCDF responded to a road traffic accident along PIE towards Tuas at Toh Guan Road exit.

"One person was rescued from the van by SCDF firefighters and conveyed to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital."
