A man was caught on video slapping, kicking and punching a woman at a public bench near Block 623 Woodlands Drive 52 on May 2.

A Stomper alerted Stomp to the incident and shared a video he took of the exchange that was allegedly a dispute over a divorce.

"It happened at about 11.55pm and the argument started about 20 minutes before I started to record what I could see," he said.

"The man seemed very agitated and threatened to hit her.

"I wasn't watching from the start, but based on where my unit faces, I could definitely hear some slaps.

"I followed my gut and recorded the tail of the incident.

"True enough, he went up a notch and kicked her right in her front, on her chest or tummy."

In the video, the man is seen repeatedly slapping the woman's face. At one point she tries to grab his hands to get him to stop.

After kicking her, he rains punches on the woman's back and loud thuds can be heard.

The Stomper said he called the police after witnessing the abuse.

"I heard the woman say in Tamil: 'Stop hitting me, it's painful. Why must you beat me?'

"The man obviously didn't give in to her plea and continued with his drama.

"The police arrived at about 12.05am on May 3 and separated the couple to listen to each side of the story."

Stomp understands the woman turned down help from the police.
