Man jailed for making false report about incest with sister after she objects to his new relationship

A man, unhappy with his sister for objecting to his new relationship, falsely accused his sister of having committed incest with him.

He was sentenced to two weeks’ jail on Thursday morning (Jan 4) after pleading guilty to the charges.

The court heard that the accused had between Mar 31 and May 4, 2016, provided false information and statements to the police on five occasions.

To protect the identity of his sister, the accused would not be named.

The accused has a two-year-old daughter with his ex-girlfriend, reports Shin Min Daily News.

After the accused broke up with his girlfriend, he became involved with another 29-year-old woman.

The two subsequently became engaged and moved into the accused’s parents house in Feb 2017.

They were evicted on Mar 25.

The accused claimed that his sister, 28, had objected to his new relationship and was out to ‘cause trouble for him’.

On Mar 31, at around 8am, the accused brought his fiancée home, only to find his ex-girlfriend there as well.

The accused and his ex-girlfriend got into a fierce argument, and the accused’s parents chased him and his fiancée out of the house.

The accused’s fiancée later called the police and told officers that her fiancé had once confessed to committing incest with his sister when he was 16 years old.

The police checked with the accused, and he told them thrice that he had sex with his sister in her room when he was 16.

The officers called in the accused’s sister for questioning four times and discovered that the accused was lying and had given false testimonies.

Other than lying about having intercourse with his sister, the accused also claimed that his sister had threatened him and his fiancée with a knife.

On Mar 31, 2016, at around 4.09am, the accused and his fiancée went to a police station to lodge a report, claiming that the accused’s sister had threatened them with a knife the afternoon before (Mar 30).

He also said in his statement that his sister was unhappy that he had brought his fiancée home, and told them to leave the house, or she would kill them.

The accused confessed afterwards that he had on two occasions given false statements to implicate his sister.
