Man found with multiple injuries after assault at Tanjong Katong Road, 1 arrested

A 30-year-old man was arrested after an alleged cause of assault that left the victim with multiple injuries.

The police said they were alerted to the case of assault along Tanjong Katong Road on Wednesday (May 24), at around 10:50pm.

They added: "Upon police arrival, the victim was found with multiple injuries and was believed to have been injured with a knife. The victim was conveyed conscious to the hospital."

Through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from police cameras, officers from Bedok Police Division established the identity of the alleged assailant and arrested him in the vicinity of Ang Mo Kio within seven hours after the incident was reported.

The man will be charged in court on Friday with voluntarily causing hurt with dangerous weapon, which carries a jail term of up to seven years, a fine, caning, or with any combination of such punishments..

The police said they take a zero-tolerance approach towards such acts of violence and will not hesitate to take action against those who blatantly disregard the law.
