Stomper Elson was shocked when he saw a man driving with his child on his lap at Serangoon Road on Sep 1.

"This brainless driver was driving with his son sitting on his lap in the driver's seat along Serangoon Road at 1.50pm," said Elson.

"I did not manage to get information on his car plate number as he was two lanes away.

"I hope he never does this again in consideration of his family's safety and others as well."

It is illegal for anyone under the height of 1.35m to be unsecured while travelling in a vehicle.

It is also safer for young children to be seated at the back in a child seat as airbags in the front could suffocate a child due to the explosive action.

First-time offenders can be fined up to $1,000 or jailed up to three months.
