Man arrested for voyeurism after allegedly taking upskirt photos and videos of woman on train

A 48-year-old man was arrested for voyeurism after he allegedly took upskirt images and videos of a female commuter on a train.

The police said they received a call for assistance about the incident on board a train travelling towards Pasir Panjang MRT station on February 10, at around 6.30pm.

Through follow-up tracing and with the aid of images from CCTV cameras, officers from the Public Transport Security Command established the man's identity and arrested him on the morning of February 11, within 12 hours of the reported offence.

Police investigations are ongoing.

The offence of voyeurism carries a jail term of up to two years, a fine, caning, or any combinations of such punishments.

The police said they have zero tolerance towards sexual offenders who threaten the safety of the community and perpetrators will be dealt with sternly in accordance with the law
