Man arrested for stealing $2,780 worth of jewellery from Bukit Merah store

A 37-year-old man has been arrested for his suspected involvement in a case of theft in dwelling at Bukit Merah.

The police said in a statement that they were alerted to a case of theft at a jewellery shop located along Bukit Merah Central on Mar 7.

Jewellery worth $2,780 were reportedly stolen. Officers from Clementi Police Division established the identity of the man and arrested him on Sunday (Mar 15).

One gold chain and one pendant were seized as case exhibits.

The man will be charged in court on Tuesday (Mar 17) with the offence of theft in dwelling.

If convicted, he faces up to seven years' jail and a fine.
