Man arrested for Geylang assault after victim found with stab wounds on torso

A 46-year-old man has been arrested for his alleged involvement in a case of voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapon that occurred at Lorong 21 Geylang.

The police said they were alerted to the assault on Tuesday (Feb 18), at around 10.10am.

The victim, who was found with a cut on his head and stab wounds on his torso, was taken to the hospital.

Through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from police cameras, officers from Bedok Police Division established the man's identity and arrested him within 24 hours.

The man will be charged in court on Thursday (Feb 20) with voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapon.

If convicted, he faces a jail term of up to seven years and/or a fine and/or caning.
