Man arrested for causing grievous hurt by dangerous means after victim injured in Bedok assault

A 38-year-old man was arrested following an assault that left his victim with multiple injuries in Bedok on Thursday (Jan 15).

The police said they were alerted to a case of assault along Bedok North Street 3 at about 8.15am on Thursday.

The victim was found with multiple injuries and was taken to hospital in a conscious state.

Through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from CCTV cameras, officers from Bedok Police Division established the assailant's identity and arrested him on the same day.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the man and the victim were known to each other.

The man will be charged in court on Friday (Jan 15) with voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous means.

The offence carries a punishment of life imprisonment or up to 15 years in jail. He is also liable to caning or if he is not sentenced to life imprisonment, liable to a fine.
