Man arrested for allegedly molesting two women at Toa Payoh MRT station few minutes apart

A 48-year-old man was arrested for allegedly molesting two women at Toa Payoh MRT station on Friday night (Jan 14).

The police said they received a report at around 11.10pm that two female victims were purportedly molested by a man at the MRT station within a span of a few minutes.

Through follow-up investigations and with the aid of images from police cameras, officers from Tanglin Police Division established the man's identity and arrested him within three hours of the reported incident.

Police investigations are ongoing.

The offence of outrage of modesty carries a jail term of up to two years and/or a fine and/or caning.

The police said they have zero tolerance towards sexual offenders who threaten the personal safety of the community, adding: "They will be dealt with sternly in accordance with the law."
