Man arrested for allegedly molesting woman who was standing along bus aisle

A 29-year-old man was arrested for his suspected involvement in an outrage of modesty case that occurred on a bus.

The police were alerted to the incident on April 10 after a 24-year-old woman reported that she had been molested on board a public bus along Punggol Road.

Investigations revealed that an unknown man had allegedly molested the victim when she was standing along the aisle, said the police in a news release.

The victim immediately alerted the bus driver, who informed the police.

The suspect was subsequently arrested after the police arrived.

He will be charged in court today (April 12).

If convicted, he is liable for a jail term of up to two years, and/or a fine, and/or caning.
