Man arrested after allegedly robbing woman of $3,900 cash and gold necklace with knife

A 61-year-old man was arrested for his suspected involvement in a case of armed robbery along Lorong 6 Toa Payoh.

On Aug 12 at about 3am, the police received a report that a 27-year-old woman was robbed by a man, who was armed with a knife, at the basement of a building along Lorong 6 Toa Payoh.

Cash amounting to about $3,900 and a gold necklace were taken from her.

The man was subsequently identified and arrested at Toa Payoh Central on Aug 13, by officers from the Tanglin Police Division, through ground enquiries and with the help of images from police cameras.

The man will be charged in court on Aug 14 with armed robbery.
