Man arrested after allegedly cutting cables connected to police cameras in Jurong West

A 59-year-old man was arrested for vandalism after allegedly cutting the electrical cables connected to police cameras in Jurong West.

The police said they received a report that the police cameras installed at Block 498 Jurong West Street 41 were faulty on March 9.

Through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from police cameras, officers from Jurong Police Division established the man's identity and arrested him on Mar 11.

Police investigations are ongoing.

If found guilty of vandalism, the man faces a jail term of up to three years, or a fine of up to $2,000 and between three and eight strokes of the cane.
