Man and woman arrested for stealing over $8,000 worth of jewellery at VivoCity, Plaza Singapura

A 40-year-old woman and a 46-year-old man were arrested on Monday (Feb 3) for allegedly stealing jewellery from two stores ⁠— one located in VivoCity and another at Plaza Singapura.

The police said they received reports of theft at the two jewellery stores on Jan 30.

"In total, jewellery amounting to $8,758 were reported stolen," said the police in a statement.

Through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from police cameras, officers from Bedok Police Division established the identities of the duo and arrested them along Geylang Lorong 16.

A bracelet and a watch found in their possession were seized in connection to the cases.

The pair will be charged in court on Wednesday with theft in dwelling read with common intention, which is punishable with a jail term of up to seven years and a fine.
