Man, 53, assisting with police investigations after taking $6,000 MacBook Pro at Pioneer Mall food court

A 53-year-old man is assisting with investigations after he allegedly stole a MacBook Pro at a food court in Pioneer Mall in Jurong on Apr 14.

A Stomper alerted Stomp to the incident and shared footage of a man walking away with the $6,000 computer.

The incident happened at about 1.55pm.

"The MacBook Pro was left at the drinks stall at Koufu," the Stomper said.

"When the owner returned to the stall just a moment after, he realised it was missing.

"In the footage, you can see a man wearing a black polo T-shirt and blue jeans carrying a red drink cup and walking out while holding the stolen MacBook Pro.

"From our perspective, he is likely a trained professional because he knew exactly how to disable the Find My functionality on the Mac.

"Catching this guy could prevent damage for hundreds of other Singaporeans."

In response to a Stomp query, the police said they were alerted to a case of dishonest misappropriation of property at Block 638 Jurong West Street 61 on Apr 14 at 2.40pm.

"A 53-year-old man is assisting with investigations," a police spokesman said.

Police investigations are ongoing.
