Man, 33, arrested after allegedly attacking woman, 35, with knife in Bukit Batok

A 33-year-old man was arrested for voluntarily causing hurt with a dangerous weapon after allegedly attacking a woman with a knife in Bukit Batok on Tuesday (April 27).

The police were alerted to the attack at Block 155 Bukit Batok Street 11 at about 4.25pm

The 35-year-old woman suffered injuries on her hand and neck area, said police in a statement on Wednesday. She was conscious when taken to hospital.

Through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from police cameras, police officers established the man's identity and arrested him on the same day within four hours of the reported crime.

"Preliminary investigations revealed that the man and the victim are believed to be known to each other, and the man supposedly had a dispute with the victim before the incident," police added.

The man will be charged in court on Thursday for voluntarily causing hurt with a dangerous weapon, which carries a jail term of up to seven years and/or a fine and/or caning.
