Man, 31, arrested for aggravated outrage of modesty at Sembawang restaurant within 3 hours

A 31-year-old man has been arrested for his suspected involvement in a case of aggravated outrage of modesty.

The police said in a statement they received a report on Wednesday (Apr 6) at 8.55pm that a woman was molested by an unknown man at a restaurant along Sembawang Road.

Officers established the identity of the man and arrested him within three hours of the reported incident.

The man will be charged in court on Friday (Apr 8) with the offence of aggravated outrage of modesty.

The offence carries a jail term of between two to 10 years, and caning.

The statement added: "The police have zero tolerance towards sexual offenders who threaten the safety of the community.

"They will be dealt with sternly in accordance with the law."
