Man, 26, arrested for allegedly molesting two victims at Jalan Sultan

A 26-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly molesting two victims, the police said in a statement on Tuesday (Jan 31).

On Jan 28 and Jan 30, the police received two reports that two victims were allegedly molested by an unknown man in the vicinity of Jalan Sultan.

Officers established the identity of the man and arrested him on Tuesday.

Investigations are ongoing.

The man will be charged in court on Wednesday (Feb 1) with outrage of modesty.

The offence carries a jail term which may extend to three years, or caning, or a fine, or any combination of such punishments.

"The police have zero tolerance towards sexual offenders who threaten the safety of the community," the police said.

"Offenders will be dealt with in accordance with the law.

"The police would also like to urge members of the public to remain vigilant and to report the matter to the police immediately, if they witness an incident of outrage of modesty, or are aware of someone being a victim of outrage of modesty."
