Man, 18, arrested for voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapon at South Bridge Road

An 18-year-old man has been arrested for his suspected involvement in a fight that occurred along South Bridge Road last Friday (Jan 17).

Police were alerted to the fight at around 5.20am and a 40-year-old man was conscious when taken to Singapore General Hospital, reported Stomp.

In a statement on Wednesday (Jan 22), the police said that officers from the Criminal Investigation Department have established the identity of one of the suspects and arrested him.

The man will be charged in court on Thursday (Jan 23) with voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapon, which is punishable with life imprisonment or a jail term of up to 15 years, and a fine or caning.

Investigations are ongoing.
