LTA's big catch: 94kg PMD impounded and 35 offences detected

A 94kg personal mobility device (PMD) was impounded during a joint enforcement operation from Saturday (Aug 31) to Monday (Sep 2).

The enforcement blitz was conducted by the Land Transport Authority (LTA), National Parks Board and Singapore Police Force at various locations in Jurong and Woodlands.

The LTA said in a Facebook post on Tuesday (Sep 3): "A big catch! We impounded a giant PMD during one of our plainclothes operations over the past three days."

The PMD was nearly five times above the permissible limit of 20kg.

A total of 35 offences were detected during the operation, with most being registration-related ones such as the failure to affix identification and registration marks.

A few PMD users were also caught riding on roads.
