A family is appealing for the donation of floor tiles after the tiles on their living room floor suddenly 'popped up'.

Stomper Chris shared with Stomp that he is looking for 16 pieces of 40cm by 40cm white tiles to fix his living room's flooring.

"The tiles popped up on Feb 27 at about 3.30pm after I heard a cracking sound while I was in the kitchen," he said.

He said that he is from a low-income family and looking for a full-time job.

"I hope that some generous persons can donate these 16 pieces of tiles and pray that a kind contractor can do it for free or for a minimal charge," he said.

"I asked for quotations from two contractors and they charge $800 and $900 to do the hacking and replacement of tiles.

"It is beyond my budget and I am still looking for a full-time permanent job since 2020."

He added that he bought his resale flat eight years ago and the floor tiles were done by the previous owner.

Most big retailers do not carry this tile size anymore.
