Kind soul stops his car despite green light to help blind man cross the road

A driver shows what the 'Singapore spirit' is all about.

His kind deed was captured in a video posted by the Beh Chia Lor - Singapore Road Facebook page and credited to Edmund Tee.

In the video, a blind man is seen crossing the road in spite of the traffic’s green light in motorists' favour.

He suddenly stops in his tracks, and uses his cane to feel his surroundings, unaware that he is standing in the middle of the road.

A driver pulls up immediately, and rushes to help the blind man get to the other side of the road.

If you watch closely, the passenger and driver of the car on the right also open their doors to help the blind man, but later decide to drive off since help has already arrived.

The footage was recorded at 7:09am today (Sep 15), during the morning rush hour. Despite that, all drivers at the scene were understanding and patient of the situation, not sounding their horns at all.

Doesn’t this little episode just make you smile? It has shown us all the true meaning of the Singapore Spirit, to help one another in spite of our differences.
