'Jungle' growing from Tampines HDB flat: Town council to engage with resident to maintain plants properly

A Stomper was passing by a block at Tampines when he was amazed by thick foliage emerging from a unit's windows.

He shared with Stomp photos of a 'jungle' of plants growing from inside a flat at Block 158 Tampines Street 12 on July 23.

From the photos, the plants appear to block almost all sunlight from entering the flat.

In response to a Stomp query, a spokesman from Tampines Town Council said:

"The Town Council is aware of this and as the plants are grown within the residential unit, we will be working closely alongside the Housing Board (HDB) and other stakeholders to engage with the resident to appeal for their cooperation to maintain their plants properly."
