A jet of water was seen shooting up to five storeys high at the junction of Jalan Buroh and Jurong Port Road on Thursday morning (Sep 26).

Stomper Alex alerted Stomp to the incident after he noticed a water leak while passing by the area at about 11.45am. He shared videos and photos he took at the scene.

"At first it was just a leak but at about 12.15pm, the water started shooting up very high," he said.

"I saw the PUB was already onsite fixing the problem shortly after it started."

He added that this is the first time he has seen something like this.

In response to a Stomp query the PUB, Singapore’s National Water Agency said that the water leak was due to a dislodged connection to the water main.

A spokesman said: "PUB received a report of a pipe leak at the junction of Jalan Buroh and Jurong Port Road on 26 Sep 2019 at 10.02am.

"PUB officers responded immediately to isolate the leak and carry out repairs at the site.

"We isolated the leak spot at 1pm without affecting customer water supply.

"The leak was caused by a dislodged connection to the water main.

"Members of the public can call PUB’s 24-hour call centre at 1800-CALL-PUB (1800-2255782) to report any pipe leaks."
