Fake news: Iranian woman who had '50 surgical procedures' to look like Angelina Jolie

An Iranian girl, Sahar Tabar, 19, who previously claimed she had undergone 50 cosmetic procedures so she could look like American actress Angelina Jolie, has admitted that it was a hoax.

The photos of her grotesque face, which resembled a character from Tim Burton’s move, ‘Corpse Bride’, were created using make-up and photoshop, she said.

Tabar’s doctored photos had gone viral ever since she posted them on Instagram, and many netizens were alarmed by her transformation after being led to believe that she had gone for surgery to look like her idol.

One Instagram user even described her appearance as ‘ghastly’, reports AsiaOne

During an interview with Russia media, Tabar revealed that she had doctored the images to ‘amuse herself’.

Photos of the real Tabar were reportedly uploaded on an Instagram fan page

Throughout the saga, many also expressed doubt over the authenticity of her photos.

For example. a Reddit user zaza9000 questioned Tabar’s claims, pointing out obvious blurring on some of her photos — obvious signs that the photos had been manipulated.

Said zaza900:

“I do believe she got plastic surgery, but it's more or less makeup and extremely exaggerating her features that she got done.”

The latest development comes in light of an earlier article claiming to cite Tabar refuting the claims.
