Inspiring Teachers Awards: Ms Wah is a role model who inspires me to be a better person

Most of what children learn comes from watching others, especially the adults who are close to them.

By being an exemplary role model herself, Ms Francesca Wah has inspired Joe Yee to be a better person.

Here is Joe Yee's entry for the Samsung-Stomp Inspiring Teachers Awards:

"I want to nominate my Primary 5 English teacher, Ms Wah, from Xingnan Primary School.

"Not only did she help me to improve my English results, she also taught me how to be a better person.

"She shares with us her experiences and involves us in charity work, which are hardly accessible in primary or secondary school.

"I have gone to read to children at rental blocks and even participated in a speech and drama performance with the children. I also participated in the 'Be A Giver' social movement.

"She has inspired me to be a better person. Now I share my joy with others."

Ms Francesca Wah had earlier also nominated her former Geography teacher, Ms Shernice Goh, for the contest.
