Huy Fong Sriracha sauce recalled due to concerns of bottles exploding upon opening

The Food Standards Australia New Zealand issued a food recall on Huy Fong Sriracha Hot Chilli Sauce as bottles of the sauce may explode upon being opened.

Due to lactic acid build-up, bottles may bloat and continue to ferment. This build-up of pressure in the bottles could result in them exploding upon being opened.

Since the implicated product is imported into Singapore, the Singapore Food Agency has directed the importer, TC Import & Export Pte Ltd, to recall the product.

The recall is ongoing. 

Consumers who have purchased the affected product may contact their point of purchase for enquiries and for a refund/exchange of the product.

  • Affected batch best before Mar 2021
  • Packing size (bottles): 17oz and 28oz
