A Hougang resident has been dealing with high-rise littering on an almost daily basis.

Stomper Catherine told Stomp that she frequently finds litter strewn on a ledge outside her unit at Block 665 Hougang Avenue 4.

"Even used sanitary pads are thrown down from above," she said.

"Ang Mo Kio Town Council (AMKTC) has come to help clean many times but the littering still continues.

"The National Environment Agency (NEA) has also come to speak to the residents above my unit but the littering also continues."

She added that she has even approached her Member of Parliament (MP).

In response to a Stomp query, an AMKTC spokesman said they are aware of the high-rise littering issue at the Stomper's block.

"The town council had put up educational posters to inform residents about the dangers of high-rise littering and to deter them from doing so.

"We have also been working closely with NEA to improve the situation on the ground and referred these high-rise littering cases to NEA for their follow-up action.

"We thank our residents who have been helping us to keep our estate clean and safe, and seek the cooperation of those who continue to high-rise litter to exercise social graciousness and stop doing so to make our estate a conducive place for everyone to live in."
