Stomper Sheng Li was touched by the kindness of a GrabFood delivery rider who stopped to help a cabby change his tyre at Hougang Avenue 3 in the early hours of Wednesday morning (Nov 13).

Sheng Li, a GrabFood rider himself, was passing by Block 23 at about 1am when he saw the stranded driver.

"I saw the taxi uncle begging for help to guide the traffic because he needed to change his tyre but no one bothered to help him," he said.

"Then a GrabFood personal mobility device (PMD) rider stopped and said to the cabby: 'Uncle wait for me, I send my order first then I come back to help you .'

"The uncle waited for him to come back and indeed, he kept his word and returned to change the tyre as the uncle was not strong enough to fix it himself."

Due to an injury, Sheng Li was unable to change the tyre.

"I couldn't help because I had a broken arm but I helped to direct traffic," he said.

Later that day, the Stomper met up with the helpful rider, Mahat Bin Salim, to treat him to kopi.

Sheng Li hopes this story will inspire people and prove that there are gems among the PMD community.
