GrabFood rider dies after accident with truck along Gambas Avenue

A 42-year-old motorcyclist died after getting into an accident with a truck along Gambas Avenue on Friday (Dec 20).

In response to queries by Stomp, the police said they were alerted to the accident, which occurred towards Woodlands Avenue 8, at 11.50am.

The male motorcyclist was pronounced dead by a paramedic at the scene.

A Stomper alerted Stomp to a photo of the accident scene that has been circulating on WhatsApp.

The deceased, who was clad in a green GrabFood shirt, can be seen lying on the road.

His motorcycle, which was carrying a GrabFood delivery bag, lay nearby.

A circulated message accompany the picture appealed for people to inform the deceased's family about the accident.

Police investigations are ongoing.

A spokesman for Grab said: "We are deeply saddened to learn about the accident and are reaching out to the family to offer our support and assistance.

"As investigations are ongoing, we are unable to provide further comments."
