Electricity supply to Yishun was disrupted at about 4.30pm on Friday (June 21) and this meant that even the traffic lights were down.

A couple of good Samaritans refused to let the lack of electricity get in the way, so they stepped up and directed the traffic.

Stomper Shan and Stomper Anonymous shared videos with Stomp via Facebook of two such instances at different parts of Yishun.

Shan was near Junction 9 when he saw a man in the middle of a junction with traffic coming from four sides.

He said to Stomp: "The man was trying to be a traffic police."

Nearby at the junction of Yishun Avenue 9 and Yishun Avenue 6, Stomper Anonymous saw a man helping to direct traffic.

In the video, a man with a backpack can be seen in the middle of the junction, gesturing at drivers on one side of the road.
