Gojek is presenting gifts to a mother and a driver after a baby was delivered during a Gojek ride for the first time.

Stomper Nish was not expecting her baby to be due until Sep 1. She shared with Stomp that the driver's car was a mess after she gave birth but instead of accepting cash from Nish's husband, he turned it down.

She said: "The driver even waited until the nurses came to us and made sure my baby and I were settled before leaving."

In response to a Stomp query, Gojek said: “A baby was delivered safely and soundly in a Gojek vehicle on 23 August 2019. We are heartened that mother, Ms Nurisah, and baby, Nellya Adora, are happy and healthy.

"We are also proud that our driver-partner, Leng Kwee Kwong, displayed calmness and heart when he drove Ms Nurisah and her sister-in-law to the hospital, doing all he could to assist with the delivery.

"This is the first baby to be delivered during a Gojek ride in Singapore. To celebrate this happy occasion, we are in touch with both Ms Nurisah and Mr Leng to offer our well-wishes and support.

"We will also be presenting both parties with meaningful and personalised gifts, including Gojek merchandise such as a specially-designed baby onesie.

"Ms Nurisah will receive S$500 in medical subsidies, a baby car seat, and S$500 in Gojek ride vouchers. These will help to defray the medical and transport costs from the regular health checkups that the new parents and their baby will need to attend.

"Mr Leng will receive a bursary worth S$500 for each of his two children, a fully-paid vacation worth S$2,500 for his family, as well as S$500 as a Medisave top-up.

"We hope to help the father-of-two further his children’s education, cover his healthcare costs, and spend more time with his family, an activity that we know he loves.”
