Driver crashes through multistorey carpark's wall in KL and plunges to death after mixing up accelerator pedal and brakes

A 52-year-old Malaysian driver plunged three storeys down to his death after crashing through a multistorey carpark wall, having mistaken the accelerator pedal to be the brakes.

The incident happened on Wednesday (Feb 15) at a carpark of a condominium in Kuala Lumpur and he was alone at the time of the incident, reports Lianhe Wanbao

The deceased’s Toyota Innova crashed into a wall of the carpark on the third storey, collapsing the entire wall, while the vehicle went through and fell from the third storey. 

When the authorities arrived on the scene, they found the vehicle turned upside down and the driver motionless. 

He was pronounced dead by the paramedic on scene. 

The official coroner’s report stated that the impact of collusion was so great that the bonnet of the car was bent out of shape.
