Here's why you may end up losing WhatsApp if you are using an old phone

WhatsApp, the world's most popular messaging app, will be updating its system, causing old phone models to lose compatibility to use it.

By the end of 2016, the Facebook-owned company would have ceased the ability of many phones to use the app.

According to The Lad Bible, the following are the list of incompatible phones:

Apple: 3GS/ iOS6
Android: Android 2.1 and Android 2,2 
Windows: Windows Phone 7

"While these mobile devices have been an important part of our story, they don't offer the kind of capabilities we need to expand our app's features in the future," a spokesperson said.
