Chinese hurdler, Shi Dongpeng, is not having a great start to the Olympics.

According to the International Sports Press Association (ISPA), the 32-year-old was not only robbed but vomited on by a man upon checking in at his hotel in Rio, Brazil on July 25.

ISPA added that the athlete was with his cameraman when another man appearing to be drunk rushed towards Shi before throwing up on him and making a dash for the exit.

That was when Shi's cameraman noticed that his full set of camera equipment had been stolen.

And in an attempt to get them back, Shi's cameraman tried to run after the thief while Shi went to get himself cleaned in the toilet.

But it was too late.

Upon returning empty-handed, the two looked through surveillance footage at the hotel and realised that it had all been a "carefully organised crime" and "elaborately designed scheme", reported CBS Sports.

Shi and his cameraman then went to the police station to make a report of the incident at 2am, but there was already a long line of people waiting to report crimes of their own.
