Actor 'Mat Over' slaps film producer David Teo for 'disrespecting' PM Najib

Actor and comedian Sulaiman Yassin was involved in a scuffle with Metrowealth Pictures film producer cum CEO David Teoduring an event attended by Malaysia's Prime Minister Najib Razak on May 17.

The incident took place at a National Transformation 2050 (TN50) dialogue for the entertainment industry in Putrajaya, Malaysia.

According to Free Malaysia Today, Teo had criticised the session’s moderator, Rosyam Nor, for allegedly overlooking those seated at the back when it came to asking questions or speaking.

A video circulating online shows how Sulaiman, more popularly known as 'Mat Over', suddenly rushing over to slap Teo.

Both parties were then separated and later escorted out of the venue hall for security officials. The dialogue continued without further incident.

The duo emerged several minutes later and made up by shaking hands as well as hugging each other.

They also apologised to Najib and drew applause from the crowd.

In an interview with The Star, Sulaiman said he would like to put the altercation behind him for good and asked "Malaysians to move on from this chapter".

He added that he bore no ill will towards Teo and believes that "this episode is over."

He was quoted as saying, "Anyway, nobody was injured during the incident, because he was not hit when I tried to slap him and neither was I hit when he tried to kick me.

"I was just unhappy because he did not respect the Prime Minister by raising his voice," said Sulaiman.
