Foodpanda has apologised after one of its customers received a food delivery order with gravy spilled everywhere.

A Stomper told Stomp he had ordered hor fun from White Restaurant at IMM via Foodpanda on June 18.

He was dismayed when he saw the condition of the meal when it had arrived.

"Is this how your rider delivers food to customers?" he asked.

"Not only is the order wrong, he even spilled the food and delivered it to me in such a disgusting state telling me there is nothing he can do except for me to ask for a refund via Foodpanda's live chat.

"Sometimes, it's not about the refund but how you explain this to the customer.

"I wonder how the sauce could have spilled out of the container when it has an airtight cover."

In response to a Stomp query, a Foodpanda spokesman said: "Foodpanda would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.

"As part of our food hygiene guidelines, our riders are not allowed to adjust or check food packaging prepared by our restaurant partners to ensure minimal contact.

"We will work with our restaurant partner and rider to investigate this matter, and ensure that the necessary steps are taken to prevent similar incidents moving forward.

"We would like to encourage our customers to get in touch with us at support@foodpanda.sg with their details so we may be able to assist with their feedback, requests and refunds."
