Food deliveryman's PMD catches fire at Fernvale Street

A personal mobility device (PMD) caught fire at Fernvale Street in Sengkang on Saturday afternoon (Sep 28).

Responding to a Stomp query, the Singapore Civil Defence Force said it was alerted to the fire at Block 473 Fernvale Street at about 1.15pm.

Stomper Hwa contributed videos that show the PMD in flames and a firefighter extinguishing the blaze.

According to Hwa, the PMD belonged to a Foodpanda deliveryman, who can be seen in one of the videos.

Hwa told Stomp: "The Foodpanda guy jumped off in time when his e-scooter caught fire.

"The blaze was actually quite big and there were explosions intermittently.

"Firefighters arrived soon and put out the fire."

The SCDFsaid it extinguished the fire using a hose reel jet.

There were no reported injuries.
