Fire breaks out in second-floor unit of Hougang Block 704

A fire broke out in a flat on the second storey of Block 704 Hougang Avenue 2 on Tuesday afternoon (Oct 16).

Stomper Anonymous took a video that showed bright orange flames flickering in the unit.

In response to a Stomp query, the Singapore Civil Defence Force said they responded to the fire at around 12.05pm.

The fire involved the contents of a kitchen and was extinguished using one water jet.

There were no reported injuries.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
