Fire breaks out at Block 225 Yishun Street 21

Stomper Kurt Tay was shocked when he noticed smoke billowing from a unit at Block 225 at Yishun Street 21 at about 3pm on Sep 7.

He was at home when he noticed the incident and managed to take a video which he shared with Stomp.

In the video, two fire engines as well as one Red Rhino vehicle can be seen parked at the carpark of the HDB estate.

Many residents can also be seen gathering at the ground floor to witness the incident.

In response to a Stomp media query, a spokesman from the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said: "SCDF was alerted to an incident at Block 225 Yishun Street 21 at 3.20pm.

"The fire was extinguished using one water jet.

"There was no reported injury and the cause of fire is under investigation."
