A fire that broke out at a coffee shop in Redhill on Wednesday afternoon (June 5) appears to have started in an economical rice stall, according to photos and a video of the incident.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force was alerted to the incident at 4.04pm.

The fire, which involved the ventilation duct of a coffee shop, was extinguished using a compressed air foam backpack and a hose reel.

No injuries were reported, though residents reported seeing thick smoke in the area.

Stomper Mark Ricafrente shared photos and a video showing the blaze at the economical rice stall.

In the video, patrons of the coffee shop had already evacuated the scene, though a few employees, cleaners and food delivery riders were still there.
