A black Audi hit a motorcycle on the Pan-Island Expressway (PIE), sending the rider and pillion tumbling onto the road.

The accident, which was caught on video, happened near the Bedok North Flyover on Dec 29.

The dash cam video shows the motorcycle getting onto the PIE from Bedok North Road.

The Audi suddenly came from behind and overtook the motorcycle on the left, making contact with the motorcycle and causing the rider and pillion to take a spill.

The cam car behind the motorcycle managed to come to a stop in time. Otherwise, it could have run over the fallen pillion.

The motorcyclist got up and walked back to check on the pillion who sat up on the ground. The driver of the cam car also got out to assist.

The motorcycle had slid a few metres ahead, causing other vehicles to slow down to avoid hitting it.

The Audi can be seen in the video coming to a stop more than 50m ahead.

A photo of the Audi shows that the right side of its front bumper was damaged.

In response to a Stomp query, the police said they were alerted at 8.25am to the accident along PIE towards Tuas.

"A 46-year-old female motorcyclist and her 55-year-old female pillion were conveyed conscious to the hospital. A 50-year-old male car driver is assisting with investigations. Police investigations are ongoing."

When contacted by Stomp, the Singapore Civil Defence Force said it conveyed two persons to Changi General Hospital.
