Fast, Furious & Foolish: Driver loses control of car and crashes into lamp post

A driver was seen on video losing control of his car and crashing into a lamp post along Guillemard Road.

The video was posted on SG Road Vigilante's public Facebook group with the caption, "Fast and furious!!".

According to the time stamp on the video, the incident happened on Mar 3 at around 5.37pm.

The driver of the black car appeared to be going faster than other cars on the road but upon reaching a slight bend, he lost control of his vehicle.

He crashed head-on into a lamp post and sent it flying.

The bonnet of the car was seriously damaged and smoke could be seen coming from the engine.

Several netizens commented on how a rider coming from the opposite direction was fortunate that he did not get hit by the car or the lamp post.

In response to Stomp's media queries, the police said that they were alerted to an accident involving a car along Guillemard Road towards Nicoll Highway at 5.39pm.

"No injuries were reported," a police spokesman said.

Police investigations are ongoing.
