A car caught fire along Lornie Highway before Adam Road exit on Saturday (Oct 17) at 7.30pm.

Stomper Russell was shocked when he spotted a car on fire and shared a photo to Stomp.

"I was driving when I suddenly spotted smoke from afar," Russell.

"I drove towards it and saw a white Honda Vezel completely engulfed in flames.

"I also heard many loud explosions coming from the car.

"I think it could be the sound of the tires bursting but I am not certain about that.

"I am also not sure if there were any casualties."

In response to a Stomp query, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said they were alerted to the fire at about 7.30pm.

"SCDF extinguished the fire with two compressed air foam backpacks and a water jet," said an SCDF spokesman.

There were no reported injuries and the cause of fire is under investigation.
